Dear Rosemount Community,

It has been a busy couple of weeks of post season play at RHS as we have navigated the tough February weather.

Congratulations to the following Irish Athletes and Coaches:

Senior, Brady Carrigan, qualified for state in diving, and he will compete on Thursday night at the U of M starting at 6:00pm.

Junior, Keegan Henning, will swim in the 500 on Friday night at the U of M.  He is currently ranked 11th in state.

Head Swim and Dive Coach, Jake Kemna, was named Section 3AA Coach of the Year.

Last week juniors, Regan Hansen and George Grunklee, represented RHS at the State Nordic Ski Competition at Giant’s Ridge.

In addition, senior, Charlie Johnson, represented RHS at the State Alpine Competition at Giant’s Ridge.

The District 196 Icettes Figure Skating Team placed 3rd  at their national competition in California.

The RHS Comp Squad placed second in Class AA Non-Tumbling and second in Varsity Game Day Tumbling.

Last Friday senior, Alex Barcus, represented RHS at State Gymnastics on bars and beam.

Head Gymnastics Coach, Jason Passeri, was named Section 1AA Coach of the Year.

On Friday morning, Ezayah Oropeza seeded #1 at 220lbs and Zach Young at 182lbs  will both wrestle at the Xcel Center starting at 9:00am.

Our boys’ hockey team lost a heart breaking game to Eagan last Saturday night 4-2 in front of a sold out capacity crowd.   They had a tremendous season going 22-3 and they won the South Suburban Conference Title for the first time since 1981.

Finally, on Wednesday night our Irish Girls’ Basketball Team will host the first round of section play at home at 7:00pm.   The team has won the last nine games in a row!

Thank you to our community for their incredible support of all of our Irish Athletic Programs.
