As we head into Lent, we usually think of something to give up in order to draw our focus on Christ and his sacrifice on the cross for us. And others follow the mindset of taking on something Christlike during Lent to honor Christ instead. Why not do both and draw closer to one another in the church family at the same time?
We will meet in small groups on Sunday mornings and Wednesday nights, hoping to accommodate as many people as possible. Regular Sunday school classes are combining for this short season so that we can hear more voices and strengthen our sense of community. And a new class is forming for those who don't have a small group yet and are nervous of being the only "new kid" in the room. There's room for everyone and a genuine hope and desire that you will join us.
You will need to purchase a book. If you are internet savvy, you can click on the button below to order off of Amazon. Pastor Scott bought several copies in Tuscaloosa and they are available on a first come first served basis for $15 (he bought them with his own money, so please pay him directly). If you can't get a book by this Sunday, please don't let that stop you from coming. Week 1 is really about getting settled in and getting to know everyone better. If you can't purchase a book for financial reasons, please see Pastor Scott and he will get you one (hey, we've all known lean times but that should never keep us from God's plan for us).
