Join the Conversation: I Keep Patients Safe By…

In recognition of Patient Safety Week, HRSA challenges all health center staff to think about how their work contributes to patient safety. Join the conversation in three easy steps:

  1. Think about how your job contributes to patient safety, and write it on this sign.
  2. Take a photo of you holding the sign.
  3. Email the photo and this signed photo release to BPHCpatientsafety@hrsa.gov. NOTE: If multiple people are pictured, we need a completed photo release for each person.

Your photo may be featured in an upcoming issue of the Digest. Thank you for keeping patients safe!

HHS Proposes New Rules to Improve the Interoperability of Electronic Health Information - The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) proposed new rules to support seamless and secure access, exchange, and use of electronic health information. The rules, issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC), would increase choice and competition while fostering innovation that promotes patient access to, and control over, their health information. NC Healthy Opportunities Pilots RFI Highlights Community Health Centers As Potential Lead Entities –> Listen to Last Week’s Webinars
In case you missed last week’s webinars and haven’t yet read NC Medicaid’s Health Opportunities Request for Information (RFI), you may want to know that NC Medicaid envisions the Lead Pilot Entities to be organizations that may include Community Health Centers. A few more quick facts, but be sure to read the RFI and policy paper and see if this is something your organization (or a collaborative of FQHCs) may be interested in developing. Responses to the RFI are due March 15, at 2:00pm.
