Breakthrough News - February 2019
What a start to the year it's been!
Between the snow and recovering from lots of Christmas overindulgence, so far this year we’ve run training on ‘Trauma and Attachment’ with Life Recovery Group in Bristol, and 2 training weekends as part of our year-long course for those supporting survivors of abuse.
Giles is also in the process of writing Breakthrough’s first book, and is on track for finishing the first draft in the next few weeks!
We’re hoping the book will be an incredible tool for empowering survivors, and also as a resource for those supporting them and keen to understand the intricacies of trauma, and some of the roadblocks to healing that trauma can create.
What's coming up?
Six brave people are taking on running challenges to raise funds for Breakthrough by running 10k (6.21 miles) on 27th January and 3rd March, and some are even crazier still and will be running the Bath Half Marathon (13.1 miles) for us on 17th March.
They’ve been training hard over the cold winter months to get ready, and we’re really grateful for all their hard work and support. Please pray for them as they approach race day that they’ll feel energised, confident, and free from injuries!
