Experiential Learning Opportunities

The theme of this year's Global Innovation Challenge is "Fact, Fiction, and Persuasion in a World of Uncertainty." This one-week challenge, hosted in Hayes Hall May 20-24, asks students of all levels and majors to join together and work as teams to tackle issues of climate change, environmental exposure and genomics. You can even earn course credit for participating! Check out the challenge's website for more information. Registration for the challenge is now open!

SURC & Celebration Deadlines Approaching!
Apply to present your research and creative works at several forums this April! The SUNY Undergraduate Research Conference, hosted at Niagara County Community College on April 27, is a great way to share your work with students and faculty from other SUNY schools. CURCA provides transportation to and from this full-day event, which includes a grad school and career fair, student presentations and keynote speakers. Applications to present at SURC are due THIS FRIDAY, March 8 by midnight.
UB's annual Celebration of Student Academic Excellence will be held on Thursday, April 25 in the Center for the Arts. To apply to present, submit an abstract/project proposal by Friday, March 15, BEFORE spring break!

CAS Scholarships. The College of Arts and Sciences has several scholarships that directly fund experiential learning opportunities, such as study abroad and internships. Several applications for CAS scholarships are due Friday, March 15.
Study Abroad in Salamanca, Spain. Spend part of your summer studying abroad at Spain's oldest and most celebrated university! Strengthen your language abilities and study Spanish literature, art and culture with University of Salamanca faculty. The rolling deadline for applications is March 25; reach out to Program Director Prof. Sharonah Fredrick with questions.
Student Engagement Ambassador Internship. Become a peer mentor! Assist with the development, coordination, promotion and implementation of leadership, community engagement and experiential learning programs. Applications for the SEAs internship are due Friday, March 8.
