Dr. Stephen Clark, affectionately known as "Doc",
is retiring this Spring and will be honored at the awards ceremony with the Outstanding Botany Alumnus award.  
Please join us if you can for the awards and to thank Dr. Clark for his long career with the department.

Disturbance Ecology of the Northwest
 Summer Field Course 2019
July 27-August 4 (with 2 meetings prior to the trip in July)
BTNY/ZOOL 4920, 4 credits, counts for upper-division electives in either major

Join Dr. John Mull and Dr. Heather Root for a road trip
adventure through the Northwest,
focusing on how disturbance affects many habitats, including:
 
Grazing and wildfire in the sagebrush steppe
Fire, timber harvesting, and climate change in the dry ponderosa pine forests
Volcanoes of Crater Lake and Mount Saint Helens
Timber harvesting and climate change in old growth western Oregon forests
Intertidal creatures of Oregon Coast
 
Learn about the natural history of plants and animals in these diverse habitats and discover more of this amazing world we live in!
 
There is an additional course fee of $300-400 to cover
transportation, lodging and food.
