Practice Drip Sketches Now Offered
Chopstick Drip Painter Peter G. Buchan often says that practice, practice, and practice is what separates professional artists from hobbyists.
Sometimes, Buchan will "drip sketch" on small panels of wood to practice his skills in preparation for larger pieces. Sometimes, he likes the sketches, and sometimes not. When he is not particularly fond of a sketch, he will drip paint over it. To his surprise, he found out that the shadow images of the first painting are embossed on the second, new painting. Talk about "Happy Accidents."
If you are not quite ready to buy a large piece, and prefer to start off with a smaller painting, check out our new line of drip sketches here. While you are at it, take a closer look at the Drip Sketch above and let us know if you could identify the SPECIFIC shadow image that is subliminally embossed on it. Facebook us or email us your best guess. The first person to correctly guess the shadow image will receive a gift certificate to our webstore for $20.00 off your next purchase. Hint: The title gives it away.
And lastly, if you ever wanted to commission an art piece, see how simple and affordable it can be by checking out our page on commissioning art. That's right, if you like a certain painting, but the size or color does not work for you, just let us know. We'd love to turn your vision into a BUCHANART original, exclusively made for you.
