Currently about 24% of the nation’s 24 million golfers are women, according to We Are Golf. A new industry initiative is aimed at encouraging more women to play golf. The effort, called #inviteHER, is being promoted by We are Golf and the LPGA Women’s Network. The goal is to get more women to take up the game.

It’s hard to believe our Spring Kick-Off is a short month away. The Kick-Off is a time to celebrate our friends, spring, our sponsors, and most importantly, to welcome new members. We have a robust recruitment campaign and we need your help.  There are several things you can do to help us make 2019 the most memorable year ever!

 

1. Mark your calendars for April 6th, 9:30 at Juniper Golf Course (RSVP details to come)
2. Invite a friend to attend the Kick-Off with you.   #inviteHER,
3. Bring a friend to the Central Oregon Golf Show March 30 & 31 and visit our booth.  #inviteHER 
4. Get your golf clubs out, brush off the snow, RSVP for an event AND invite a friend to join you.   #inviteHER

and make some new ones!  This is our biggest gathering of the year, you don’t want to miss it!

In anticipation of sunny Saturdays in March, we’ve scheduled some warm up golf at local courses to get your body moving before our Spring Kickoff.  Come out and give your clubs some fresh air.

New Registration & Refund Policy

Occasionally, there are events where accurate participation numbers are required. For example, at our Spring Kick-Off, a head count is necessary for food preparation. We realize there are times when life happens, and the best laid plans go by the wayside, resulting in a no-show. Our chapter is now held accountable for the cost of your meal, due to your no-show.

Last year the Board of Directors approved an addendum to our current Registration Policy for events that may require a pay-in-advance. The LPGA Amateurs Central Oregon Refund Policy reads as follows:

LPGA Amateurs Central Oregon Refund Policy: 
  • Registrants may cancel before the registration deadline to receive full refund.
  • No refunds for cancellations will be given after the registration deadline.
  • If the registrant is unable to attend, the registrant is responsible for finding a substitute and collecting payment directly from their substitute.
  • No refunds are available for absences.

All LPGA Amateurs Chapters are in the process of transitioning to a new website. Change is hard, but the Central Oregon Chapter Board is confident that the LPGA Amateur Golf Association is moving in the right direction. The new website will make it easier to sign up for events and will allow for pre-pay when deemed necessary.

Welcome, Ladies! 

Central Oregon Golf Show 

We will be having a booth at the Central Oregon Golf Show on March 30 & 31 at the Riverhouse Convention Center. This will be a showcase for the serious and casual golfer. We are looking for volunteers to help with the booth! The show will be from 10:00 - 5:00 both days. I would like to have 2 people at the booth in 2- hour increments. LPGA Amateurs 2019 Rules Update Webinar

The LPGA Amateurs Golf Department is hosting a 2019 Rules Update Webinar to provide members with information about the changes in the 2019 USGA golf rules.  All members are invited to attend this webinar and it will be recorded if members are unable to attend live. The webinar will be held on Tuesday, March 26 at 4:00pm PDT.
