In the early morning of Wednesday 27th of February, the Israeli Occupation forces arrested Zakaria Zubeidi one of the founders of the Freedom Theatre and one of the students of the Stone Theatre, that was destroyed during the second Intifada.

Zakaria co-founded The Freedom Theatre with Juliano Mer-Khamis who was murdered outside the theatre on the 4th of April 2011. Zakaria continued to support the theatre for over a decade since its establishment in 2006 as well as being a leader and pioneer of cultural resistance.

Zakaria has always kept his passion to continue to improve his life and the lives of others around him. In 2007 he was given amnesty after a deal that was made between the Palestine Authority and the Israeli Prime Minister.
