PCOH is partnering with ACHIEVA, Put People First! PA, PA Health Access Network, and the Berks County Community Foundation to host a legislative meet and greet at the capitol in Harrisburg on March 19, 2019 to discuss oral health in the state. Please forward this "Save the Date" to your senators and representatives and encourage them to attend.

Healthy Teeth Healthy Children - GRIN & SHARE IT

HTHC has launched their Grin & Share It eBlast to trained providers! This brief, periodic update will provide news, updates and resources to practices integrating oral health into overall health care for children and families after participating in one of the EPIC trainings

Social Determinants of Health for Rural People

The Rural Health Information Hub has updated their topic guide on Social Determinants of Health for Rural People which includes a new Frequently Asked Question on ways healthcare providers can address social determinants to their patients.

Survey on Electronic Cigarette Usage

Pharmacy students at Duquesne University are conducting a research project to study the different reasons for the use of electronic cigarettes between different age groups. To participate in this research project, participants must be between the ages of 18-24 OR between the ages of 30-60. The information will be collected through the use of a survey regarding participant's opinions on electronic cigarettes. The survey answers will be evaluated anonymously and utilized to help healthcare professionals more effectively counsel future patients on electronic cigarette usage. Participation in this survey is completely voluntary. Anyone who completes the survey and provides a contact email address will be entered into a raffle to win a $25.00 gift card.

LAST DAYS OF CHILDREN'S DENTAL HEALTH MONTH
Here at PCOH, we are thrilled to support Children's Dental Health Month during February each year. Many educational campaigns are held throughout the state, and PCOH can assist in providing resources for those individuals and organizations who want to do something special within their communities. Please let us know what events you are holding and feel free to share pictures on our Facebook page!

The AAP has worked with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to develop a social media toolkit to promote a new oral health communications toolkit – www.aap.org/tinyteeth. Please feel free to use the information within on social media, in newsletters, over listservs, etc and don’t forget to include the hashtags #NCDHM and #TinyTeeth, when appropriate.
