As you already know, we made the move to California to raise new support to return to Taiwan by 2020. As I prepared our missionary update for this past month of February, I knew that we did not have any astounding victories or exciting news to report. Although we have had nine appointments/meetings/interviews this month, much remains the same amidst this rainy season in California with no promises of new support at this time. However, we remain hopeful and confident in Christ.
In reality, we are reporting to you in human weakness, not in human achievement or in earthly confidence. In fact, may it never be that we report to you in human confidence!
By God's grace, we continue to diligently work for new meetings.
By God's grace, we work hard to network with possible new supporters for the mission.
By God's grace, we travel, we present our mission, and we serve Christ with joy wherever we are.
In truth, God has placed us this situation to depend on His grace.
Without His grace, we can do nothing.
But we are never without hope, and we have full assurance in the gospel! We are sheep of His pasture, we are citizens of His Kingdom, and we are ever at God's mercy—and that's always a good place to be!
We will always have Christ and Christ alone is all we need in death and life, in prosperity and in poverty, in satisfaction and in disappointment, in joy and in sorrow, in confidence and in uncertainty—He is our sure anchor and certain hope of eternity. And we are encouraged to press on by faith for the glory of God.
With our hands, we work for Christ; with our hearts, we rest in Christ.
