We Are Almost There

We praise God for your diligent prayer and support! Each month the Lord is providing for us to go through the addition of monthly partners to our team. We now have committed supporters for 90% of our monthly budget. This is an incredible answer to prayer. We always thank the Lord for those who regularly bring our family and ministry to the Lord in prayer (some of you do so on a daily basis)!

Bonjour Bulletin

Since we will spend 1 year in France for language training, we decided to change our main banner image to include a snapshot of both France and Madagascar. The picture on the left is of Mont Blanc in the French Alps.

A Note from David:

I thank the Lord that He continues to reveal my weakness in so many areas. My tendency to be self-reliant has repeatedly and graciously been dealt with by God who desires Christ-likeness more than confidence, dependence more than determination, and faith more than fortitude. The outlook of moving overseas to learn two new languages, two new cultures, and living in a very different land has taught me to not depend on my own strength and abilities, but on the power of God. I am the creature and He is the Creator. I am the slave and He is the Sovereign. I rejoice that God is repeatedly showing me my need for His all-sufficient grace.

Praise God — our monthly support has grown!

Thank you for holding the rope in prayer and support!

The Master's Academy International

The Master's Academy International (TMAI) provides doctrinal oversight as well as financial and academic support to pastoral training centers around the world. Since we plan to have our training ministry in Madagascar connected with TMAI, I was able to take part in an all-day meeting for TMAI deans. It quickly became evident that the leadership of TMAI has been laboring to provide greater and greater means of support for the training centers under their care. I was amazed by the many ways TMAI is coming alongside international training centers to support the important work of training indigenous pastors. To God be the glory!

Team Madagascar!

My brothers and teammates for the ministry in Madagascar, Faly and Nax, were able to stay at our home from March 2nd - 11th. It was a joy to see them, to talk about the ministry, and to expect great things from God as we look towards the years ahead.

A Note from Ashley:

Walking with the Lord is one step of faith and act of obedience at a time. In the midst of overwhelming demands, it brings me joy to see God's greatness put on display. It's a very busy time for us with more to get done than it seems we have time for, but this makes me thankful that God doesn't ask me to serve in my own strength. I'm so grateful that He is using this time to work in my heart.

Your kind notes, prayers of intercession, financial support, encouraging words, and love lift me up and spur me on regularly. As we pursue going overseas, learning languages, and serving in ministry, I know that this is a team effort that must ultimately be fueled by God's grace.

Our prayer is that everything we do would be done for God's glory alone and that we would consider every sacrifice a privilege to make for Christ's sake.
"When I consider the cross of Christ, how can anything that I do be called sacrifice?" Amy Carmichael

Missions Conference

We were richly blessed to participate in a missions conference at Cornerstone Community Church in Atascadero, California. We made many new friends, reconnected with some old ones, and saw the glory of Christ through through the lives of these wonderful people.

Our family was hosted by Kevin and Felicia Covington and we all came to love them greatly!

Prayer Requests:

  • Pray for David as he begins the ordination process at Grace Community Church in the midst of preparing to leave the country.
  • Pray for David to lovingly shepherd Ashley and the girls through the final months in the USA and through our transition to Albertville, France.
  • Pray for God's abundant grace for Ashley as she continues her 50 supervised counseling sessions, educates the girls, hosts our Bible study, keeps our home, and makes preparations to leave the country.
  • Please pray for Ashley's preparations for teaching at a women's event on March 30th on the topic of Sanctification
  • Pray for us as we decide on a storage solution during our year in France. We are only bringing suitcases to France, but we plan to ship many of our household goods and furniture to Madagascar. Please pray for this urgent need (starting in June 2019).
All Glory Be to Christ,
David & Ashley, Isabella (age 8), Lydia (age 7), Anna (age 5), and Clara (age 4)
