On March 6, Cleantech San Diego and E2 will host an Education Series event titled California's Cleantech Priorities: State Policies Shaping 2019 and Beyond. The forum features a conversation with cleantech policy experts who will discuss legislative priorities in Sacramento, who is leading the conversation, and the challenges and opportunities they may spur for the cleantech sector. From February 5-7, Cleantech San Diego's Jason Anderson was in New Orleans to represent the San Diego region's cleantech and smart cities industries as part of the DistribuTECH Conference. Cleantech San Diego Supports Regional Energy Startups at EPIC Symposium
On February 19, Cleantech San Diego’s Marty Turock and Alyssa Gutner-Davis represented the Southern California Energy Innovation Network (SCEIN) at the California Energy Commission’s annual EPIC Symposium. Gregory Poilasne of Nuvve, a Cleantech San Diego and SCEIN member company, participated in a panel on "Survival Tips for Entrepreneurs" and was the subject of an EPIC awardee feature video. Matt Miller, CEO of San Diego company Nativus and winner of one of the first four CalSEED $450,000 prototype awards, participated in the CalSEED entrepreneur pitch session.

Port of San Diego Awards Contract for Cargo Terminal Microgrid Project
On February 12, the Port of San Diego announced that it will soon begin infrastructure improvements to support future installation of a renewable, solar-powered microgrid at the Tenth Avenue Marine Terminal, one of its two main marine cargo terminals. The Board of Port Commissioners awarded a nearly $1.6 million contract to replace the roof of warehouse B at the terminal. Read More

City of Oceanside Continues Conversations about Climate Action Plan
On April 22, the City of Oceanside’s Planning Commission will host a public hearing on the city’s Climate Action Plan. The plan will be considered by the City Council at their May 8 hearing. On March 4, the city’s Planning Division will host the second community workshop at 5:30 pm in the City Council Chambers on the Draft Energy and Climate Action Element (ECAP) and Draft Climate Action Plan (CAP). Together with the Draft Economic Development Element, these two documents comprise the first phase of Oceanside's comprehensive General Plan Update.
