A BIG thank to London Southend Airport, Easyjet and to everyone involved, for their kind donation of £1000 towards Carers Emotional Wellbeing 

Southend Airport ..."We're celebrating the success of the Santa Flights with a gifting ceremony at the airport for the charities we will be supporting in the coming months! Thank you again to everyone for helping us raise a whopping £14000+, your money is going towards some fantastic causes! #charity".
Didn't we do well!!!!
We all keep looking at the piles of tokens at different Tesco branches and will let you know next month how we did!!!!

Young Carers Fantastically Fun Comic Book Workshop - Saturday 30th March 2019
MAKING COMICS with Richy K. Chandler
Join Writer, Illustrator and Comic Creator, Richy K. Chandler (Lucy the Octopus, Wallace & Gromit, Amelia the Fox) in a fun interactive workshop, as he shares secrets of character creation and story telling, building up to you creating your very own comic strip!



Young Carers Forum - How our young carers see themselves
Southend young carers have their own forum and talked this through and had pizza as well!

Our young carers forum is for young carers aged 13-18 years only.

- This is a MONTHLY club on the last Tuesday of each month.

 
Online Counselling and Wellbeing Support
Kooth.com is a website that young people (11-18 years old) can use to get advice, support and guidance from qualified counsellors (UKCP and BACP accredited) via a live chat service or from young people of their own age via moderated forums for any problem, no matter how big or small, it is available on any internet enabled device.

Scope’s Local People Programme Get Together Meeting - Friday 8th March
Scope’s Local People Programme - For disabled people aged 12-65 in Southend (with any physical or mental illness, impairment or additional needs) - And unpaid carers of those people. (Including parent-carers of children aged 0-11) - And or close family members.
 

 
Peer Support Group - Time to Talk ~ Next Date is Wednesday 13 March
Too often, people who experience a mental health problem are also expected to take the lead on talking about mental health in the wider sense. Time To Talk Day encourages everyone to talk about mental health.
 
Taoist Tai Chi - Free open house, come and try sessions......
Moving meditation for body, mind and spirit. Taoist Tai Chi arts are specifically designed to improve health.

What's coming up in March...
Free Wills Month at Essex & Herts Air Ambulance
March is Free Wills Month at Essex & Herts Air Ambulance. We are offering people aged 55 or over the opportunity to have a will professionally drawn up for free by a participating solicitor. There is a suggested donation of £100 for a simple will and £150 for a mirror will which will be collected by the solicitor on the day.
 

Walk 10,000 steps every day in March - Walk All Over Cancer
Get fit and feel amazing as you step up to raise money for life-saving cancer research. Whether you walk to work, take up jogging, or give the lift a miss, the money you raise will help bring forward the day when all cancers are cured.
