Hi <<First Name>>!
Last week I was on the Big Island of Hawaii with my husband celebrating his retirement. Here I was having a great time playing in the sun, water and yes, warm rain. Even so, one day I felt stressed, talking down to myself and just not feeling ok with being me.
This can happen to any of us no matter where we are or what is going right in our lives. Then I realized I had not been using one of my favorite mantras, ‘I Love you, please forgive me, I’m sorry, thank you.’ What a perfect place to use the Hawaiian Ho’oponopono phrase.
For me this helps create a feeling of acceptance. Creating movement rather than contraction in your body and mind around the negative self talk. You can also mentally say these words as you think of someone you might have conflict with. A positive energy, a forcefield with happy colors. Sounds a lot nicer then hanging out in a dark cloud of cold rain.
The Hawaiian word, Ho’oponopono, has a much greater meaning. Multi demential. Ho’o means “to make", pono “right". The second pono means “doubly right”, or being right with both self and others. Using this word helps you let go of resentment towards yourself for all you have done or haven’t done. And allowing you to release the resentment towards others as well. There's no judgment. Just love and acceptances.
Ho’oponopono
Try Ho’oponopono as a single word or use the whole phrase as the mantra during meditation. It’s great way to connect the meaning to you. Plus it gives you something to focus on. Using the square breathe along with the phrase brings it into your body at a deeper level to.
Square Breathe
I Love You - inhale, one, two, three, four….
I’m Sorry - hold, one, two, three, four….
Please Forgive Me - exhale, one, tow, three, four….
Thank You - hold, one, two, three, four……..
