A big thank you goes to Johanne for conquering the costumes. 95% of the work has been done to get a handle on our costume collection and to have photos and descriptions available to members who are interested in borrowing them. All the costumes are organized and in protective garment bags, and there is an easily accessible sign-out document. Please make sure this is updated when you borrow/return costumes. Feel free to drop-by my place to try on a costume. Johanne is moving on to other projects. Let me know if you want to take on the job of heading up completing the project, or it could gradually be updated as the need arises. Thanks also to all the committee members who pitched in to help sorting, applying labels, taking photos, etc, during our many meetings. These are Lucie Matich, Annie Kaps, Judy Hubbard, Val Weinert, and Dale Adamson, in addition to fearless leader, Johanne Walesch.

We've started a list for ordering SIFD t-shirts and bags. Are you interested? The selection of t-shirts is different than it was in the past. Have a look at the choice here. Eventually, I will get to this...

Registration has opened for Lyrids Folk Dance Festival. Register now here. For half-price you could be a work-exchange volunteer, if you don’t mind missing a few hours of dancing to work in the festival market and help with snacks, for example. Do you know someone (non-dancer, perhaps?) who would be interested in helping a lot, or being our photographer in exchange for meals? See prices here.

Extra events are optional and are listed here for your information. If a couple of hours of dancing once a week on Thursdays is as much as you want or can manage, that is fine! Happy Dancing,

The Squalicum Yacht club is the smaller of the two Yacht Clubs side by side on S. Harbor Loop Drive. (South Harbor Loop Drive is connected in a circle with North Harbor Loop Drive.)

How to get there:

From the North, go South on I-5, take the Meridian Street Exit and turn right. From Meridian, take the 3rd right (2nd traffic light) onto Squalicum Way. Follow Squalicum Way and it will merge onto Roeder Street. Shortly thereafter, there will be signs for Squalicum Harbor and Coho Way. Take a right onto Coho Way. The very first possible right turn which is identified with a street sign "N. Harbor Loop Drive", take that right and at the end of that very short road you are in a parking lot. If you would turn left you will see the Squalicum Yacht Club in front of you.

From the South, you can take Holly Street through town to "F" Street. Turn left onto F street toward the water and across the train tracks to Roeder. Turn right onto Roeder Ave Continue on Roeder to Coho Way (City Mac Store) Turn Left onto Coho Way. The first possible right is "N. Harbor Loop Drive". Take that right and drive that short "road" to the end, and turn left into the parking Lot. The small building in front of you is the Squalicum Yacht Club.

The address is 2633 S. Harbor Loop Drive.

Dancing starts at 7pm and runs to 10pm.  There is a $15 donation requested.
