Recommended Apps: Step Up Your Nutrition
|
|
Drinking an adequate amount of water is vital to improve the transport of nutrients within your body. With the Drink Water Reminder, a daily water intake calculator based on your gender, weight and geographic climate will let you know how much water you should drink daily. Create reminders that will help you stay hydrated all day, so you can boost your energy, lower stress, and overall improve your health - cheers to that!
|
Shopwell was designed to help you meet your nutritional goals. Through this app, you can create a personal food profile, complete with all of your nutrition goals or any dietary restrictions. Then, use the app's barcode scanner to identify food items that will align with your goals. Each scanned food item will receive a score to indicate just how well matched it is to your food profile, to help make the healthier choice the easier choice!

National Nutrition Month is a yearly campaign that takes place during March dedicated to promote the importance of nutritious meals and physical activity in order to improve overall health and to reduce chronic diseases, such as diabetes and heart disease. Some of the campaign's key messages are:
- Choose a variety of healthy foods from all groups. Use MyPlate as a guide to a balanced meal.
- Be mindful about food choices throughout each day.
- Reduce food waste by being more conscious about what foods you really need at the store.
- Find activities you enjoy doing and be active most days of the week.
- Refer to nutrition experts for advice. A Registered Dietitian can guide you to meet your preferences and health-related needs.
