Out of the Woods Celebration for International Women's Day

Firstly, thank you to so many artists who are beginning to deliver their art works ready for International Women's Day on 8 March at Timeless Textiles gallery.

Out of the Wood is the focus for 2019 yearly fundraiser that The Wednesday Group at Timeless Textiles has been working on for the last year. This group meets each Wednesday between 10.30 am -12.30pm and each year work's on a project for International Women's Day.

Out of the Wood is raising funds to support women, especially older women, who are homeless and living in their cars.

The Wednesday Group and contributing artists from around the world have been creating mixed media art works using recycled timber and fibres, using textile art techniques. The timber is recycled hard wood from Newcastle homes and donated by Round2timbers.

The Wednesday Maker's Group

The organisation, Our Backyard will receive all proceeds to support the wonderful assistance they are providing to women living in their cars. The Coordinator of Our Backyard, Peter di Girolamo, and program volunteers will be attending.

Come and celebrate International Women’s Day with us at Timeless Textiles Gallery on Friday 8 March at 10.30am - 12.30pm. Join us for morning tea at the gallery and for the Wednesday group’s exhibition and  sale of the “Out of The Wood” art works.

Sharon Claydon, Member for Newcastle will be our special guest with A Capella Nova entertaining us on the morning.   We will also be making a presentation to “Our Backyard” the charity recipient of the “Out of The Wood” art work  sales.

Sale of Out of the Wood artworks

These small unique art works will be displayed and sold online on the Timeless Textiles website between 27 February and 6 March.

So place your bid on your chosen art anytime from 5pm 27th February until 5pm 6th March on the Timeless Textiles website The highest bid after the reserve price has been reached will be successful and notified by email.

All artworks not sold online will be available for purchase in person on Friday 8 March at the International Women’s Day Celebration.
