This year Neil Alexander & NAIL celebrates 20 Years of cutting edge Jazz-Funk and World Jazz Fusion. In addition to the shows we've already setup more are being added all the time, so check the Tour page and come celebrate with us!
You can practically feel Spring pushing it's way up...the days are getting longer. Won't be long now before things start thawing out around here.
February continued the current trend of more/better music. Mr Gone kicked things off with a sold out show at Maureen's in Nyack, and I went in the studio with guitarist Rez Abbasi and drummer Michael Sarin to record the "Django-Shift" project (a decidedly modern take on the music of Django Reinhardt), which should be out later this year. I've been teaching another Electronic Music Production workshop series for the Hudson Valley Music Collective, and my 4th Saturday Jazz Series at the Wherehouse continues with a quartet fronted by singer Judi Silvano. As always, keep an eye on that calendar page for current info. Here's what's up in March and beyond:

As a longtime member of the Orange County Arts Council it's nice when I'm invited to participate in their Members Show Opening Reception. These are always wonderful events. I'll be doing a set of my electro-jazz-ambient...whatever you call it (feel free to email your suggestions!) and will be joined by my dear friend Judi Silvano around 8 PM.
Member's Photography will be displayed at Grit Works (115 Broadway, Newburgh NY). All other works will be displayed at the Carriage House at Thornwillow Institute (7 S Lander Street, Newburgh NY) Gallery hours, entertainment & events TBD. Questions? Email info@ocartscouncil.org

Travel back in time with us.... to the heyday of the music we call 'fusion". Piktor's Metamorphosisgoes there, and means it. We return for our 5th show at the Roadhouse – always a great show at this awesome chill venue. As is our passion, we will be performing classic compositions of folks like Stanley Clarke, Weather Report, Pat Metheny, Mahavishnu Orchestra, and more, this time with a few choice originals in the mix! Once again the line up is Monroe Quinn (Guitars), Danny Pagan (Drums), Brian Mooney (Basses) and yours truly Neil 'NAIL' Alexander on the keys. As of now we're planning on STREAMING THE SHOW to my YOUTUBE CHANNEL, technical glitches notwithstanding. I urge you to check us out. Even if this style of music is not your fav, the energy is infectious. I guarantee you'll enjoy it!

Hosted by Neil Alexander
This month:
Judi Silvano (voice), with
Ratzo Harris (Bass) & Jeff "Seige" Seigel (drums)
The Wherehouse
119 Liberty St. Newburgh NY
This month I'm honored to welcome vocalist Judi Silvano, bassist Ratzo B Harris and drummer Jeff "Seige" Seigel to the 4th Saturday Jazz Series. I've known Judi for many years and we've worked together quite a bit. Ratzo Harris is one of the best bassists on the scene today, and is a member of my other project Mr Gone. I've known Jeff for a few years now but this will only be our 2nd (or 3rd?) gig together. These cats are wonderful musicians and I'm so looking forward to this month's show. Please join us for another evening of classic tunes, extended improvisations and freeform explorations of the jazz repertoire. No Cover! #jazzlives #newburghny
Just added: New band, new venue! Into White Plains I go to perform with local veteran Tim Veeder (saxophones) and some great local players including bassist Dave Anderson at Anthony's Coal Fired Pizza. Jazz, groove and originals. No Cover.
