Celebration of Good

On February 20, Geoff Rinehart, Abigail Heath, and Russ Davis from Communitas North American were in town to host "Fresh: A Neighborhood Gathering." It was a gathering of community non-profits seeking to address needs in our city and live out faith and mission. Most of the organizations involved were people we have been building connections with to see how we can collaborate with each other on issues where we share an interest. We shared stories of how God is using each of us to touch people in Indianapolis who are marginalized. Geoff also shared the opportunity to connect with our Dynamic Adventure guidebook in exploring ways to live out faith.

The fifth and sixth dynamics of the missional church planting process used by Communitas are to Hub (cultivate local networks to multiply missional initiatives) and Extend (help fuel trans-local movements beyond the city). Usually, people think these steps can only happen once you have a mature and large church established. Through events like Fresh, we are able to begin connecting with others in our city that share the same passion for the marginalized and build a relationship network where we can increase our Kingdom effectiveness through collaboration.

Pray for the relationships that were formed through Fresh to grow and flourish for the common good of our city.
