Women Techmakers is a program created by Google to highlight the talent of women in the computer world. This is the 4th edition in Montreal of the special event "The Women Techmakers Global Event Series Celebrating International Women's Day". This program takes place every year in 52 countries and has more than 200 world events. African and Canadian Women in STEM - Challenges and Opportunities

A Day to Share, Learn and Celebrate Accomplishments showcasing African women scientists based in Africa and Canada while providing a platform for these women scientists to share and exchange knowledge and ideas on how to enhance the participation of women in STEM and help us to celebrate the successes registered on the African continent. The output will be the establishment of networks and collaboration between African and Canadian Women Scientists.

*On the morning of March 25 at the office of IDRC, 150 Kent Street by invitation only, a roundtable event will be held to establish some frameworks on how best to improve the participation of women in the STEM sector. A formal proposal will be drawn up.

Women in Science and Engineering, University of Toronto Chapter invites high school students to experience STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math) and university student life while hearing from trailblazers currently in the field. Participants will be guided by student mentors to attend lectures and tour research labs on the UofT St. George campus. Participants will have the opportunity to network, see the campus, and have questions about post-secondary education answered. Annual WISE International Women’s Day Gala commemorates the incredible achievements of women everywhere and is a day of unity, celebration, reflection, and advocacy.

Listen to inspirational women from across a variety of fields who will speak about their own experiences and obstacles striving for gender equality. International Women’s Day 2019: Creating Gender Balance in the Biological Sciences

March 7th 2019 4:30 – 8:00 PM

Two engaging panel discussions focusing on the representation of women in research and healthcare entrepreneurship. We will discuss the challenges that women in these positions face and speak to some systemic actions we can all take in order to increase the amount of women in leadership positions within biological sciences.
Investor Spotlight: Amplitude Ventures

Bharat Srinivasa from Amplitude Ventures will present an overview of the fund, its investment strategy, primary areas of interest, and a few investment case studies. Following the presentation, they will meet 1-on-1 with companies that have been accepted.
