March: Larval Culture of Bivalve Species
All shellfish have a larval cycle before becoming spat. This lecture discusses the various routines that larvae perform during the earliest part of their lives. Join the microscopic world of trochophores and veligers as they dare to go the distance to becoming seed.
Learn advanced handling techniques used to maximize survival, growth and health of shellfish larvae.
The workshops are: Wednesday 3/20 from 5-7pm, and again on Friday 3/22 from 1-3pm, here at the marine center in Southold.

All are welcome to attend!

  • The gate will be open during SPAT hours, M-W-F from 8:30am - noon
  • Please remember that we are closed on the weekends and holidays, and there is absolutely no access to SPAT other than the hours mentioned
  • Members should sign-in at the SPAT office. Unless you need membership information, you can head directly to the SPAT office
