A Message from the President
Hello everyone, thank you all for making our 25th anniversary season of ski racing at Blue Mountain a huge success!  In particular I would like to thank our Volunteer Committee who have worked very hard for the past year to make this season a success and enjoyable for everyone!  Of course everyone plays a role in making our club a great place to be including our sponsors, alumni, parents, athletes and Blue Mountain staff and coaches, thank you for all of your passion and contributions.

The ski racing season may be over for some but many athletes are still competing now and will be well into April representing Jozo Weider Alpine Racing all across Canada and the United States!  For those athletes still racing please know that you have a community of over 1000 parents, alumni, athletes and coaches cheering you on and watching online, good luck and do us proud!  For those not racing, please be sure to reach out to parents and athletes who are racing and wish them well, it means alot!  On behalf of the Jozo Weider Volunteer Committee we wish everyone a safe and successful rest of the season!

This season saw many changes in and around the club.  Judging by the feedback we received from parents and through our survey's those changes were well received.  Myself and the committee will be looking closely at what worked and what needs some tweaking so we can continue to improve your experience at the Jozo Weider Ski Club.  Your executive will also be meeting with Blue Mountain to share some of your feedback and work with Blue Mountain to make your experience "On Snow" even better!

There is still plenty of skiing to be done so please enjoy this time with your family and get out and ski!  Please stay tuned to our newsletters as there will be lots of important information coming out over the next several months.

KING OF THE MOUNTAIN

The deadline has been extended to enter this race to Tuesday Mar. 12 so please be sure to contact Abigail Gallagher, and email her your signed waiver.  The cost to enter is $25 and can only be paid by CC by contacting Abigail Gallagher at 705-445-0231 x. 52808.  For those that require a lift ticket to race please contact Abigail to receive your complimentary lift ticket.

Date: Saturday March 16, 2019.
Where:  Blue Mountain, Smart Alec
Time: Inspection 9:15am, race start 10am
Age Group: Open to all Jozo Parents and Masters Racers age 21 and up.

Apres and awards: Immediately following the race at the Grand Central Lodge bar.

This is a fun race which has been contested between the Jozo Weider Ski Club and the Toronto Ski Club for the past 25 years.  Jozo Weider is the current defending KING so please come out and support the team and have some fun skiing GS gates on Smart Alec!  This is also a great opportunity to experience the feeling of racing gates out of the start hut with official timing and a whole bunch of fun!  You do not have to be an experienced skier/racer to enter, your very own club President, Dave Grose, will be there to race so please join me.

Invitational races and Camp information

We will be hosting daily alpine training from Saturday March 9 – Tuesday March 12, 2019 for all our athletes competing in invitational races throughout March. Please register through our Race Admin, Abby Gallagher at ext 52808 or at abgallagher@bluemountain.ca.

Blue Mountain will be running a Freestyle Ski and Snowboard March Break Camp. This camp will run 9:30am-3:30pm from March 11-15, 2019. Pick up and drop off will happen at the Blue Mountain Inn. Again, please contact Abby Gallagher if you are interested in registering.

As a reminder, there are quite a few invitational races left for the season. As there are limited spots available, please contact our Race Admins if your athlete is interested in competing.
