WHAT'S NEW

Bow Valley Interagency Meeting
The next Bow Valley Interagency Meeting is:
Tuesday, March 19
3:00 - 4:30 pm
Canmore Civic Centre, Classroom

The agenda will be sent out later this week, we hope to see you there!
Canmore Young Adult Network (CYAN)

On March 15th CYAN is hosting our Move Mountains Festival. You can expect live music from musicians like Kyle Pullan, Emily Loveless and Joseph Tennant.

We are also hosting the 3 local MLA candidates. This event is for everyone who calls Canmore home, whether that's for the long run, or just for now. It is for everyone who has struggled with the high costs of living, or the lack of social opportunities. At Move Mountains, you'll get to hear all about the platforms that exist to change this, and you’ll be given the opportunity to voice any concerns and suggestions you may have on these issues and more. I think that you will get a lot out of attending the event.

Plus this event is licenced, and we have amazing door prizes (like massages, private yoga sessions and back-country meal prep) 1 free drink with your ticket and food at the event. Just like all of our events, while we do aim to serve the young adult population - everyone is welcome to attend out events - in this case, you must be 18+ as it is licenced!

New Social Assessment Shows Banff’s Strengths and Issues to Tackle
The Town of Banff Council adopted the 2018 Banff Community Social Assessment as a guide for future municipal social planning and program development. Over the past year, information was gathered through community conversation with over 700 residents, input from organizations, and federal data. The report provides a snapshot of life in Banff, trends in areas like income and demographics, and identifies strengths and needs in the community. This is the third report of this type, with other published in 2006 and 2014. The input gathered over the summer was analyzed and summarized into themes. About 230 residents reviewed the summaries in the fall to validate the strengths and needs in Banff.

The report has provides some high-level areas of focus, further recommendations and specific approaches and action plans will be developed in coming months.
Time will be spent sharing the findings with community groups and organizations and an executive summary document highlighting the primary findings will be produced for wider public distribution.

The full report on the Community Social Assessment is available at banff.ca/talking
