#CANCon19

We would like to say a really big thank you to all that contributed to, showcased at, and attended #CANCon19 - the Wakefield Community Anchor Network (Wakefield CAN) conference, which took place on 12 March at St Catherine's Church Centre.
We had an even bigger attendance than last year, with over 100 attendees, so thank you to all who attended, you help us spread the brilliant work of the community anchors and partners in Wakefield District. Through looking at the event evaluation forms, we can see that the event was very well received, with special mentions going to the showcases - Margaret & Me, Community Theatre, Heritage Textile Project, Partnerships in Action for Young People and Families and the guest speaker, Sydney Thornbury - Artistic Director, The Art House. Areas for development and practical suggestions for future events were also highlighted in the evaluations.
The event also gave us an opportunity to showcase the new branding that Let's Dance Agency has done for Wakefield CAN, it was great to see everything come together on the day!
The next meeting of the Community Anchors is in early April when we will review the conference, the event evaluation and begin planning for 2020. Please let us know if you have any suggestions or additional comments you would like considered. Let's make #CANCon20 even bigger and better!
