Greetings from DAFT!  Just three days left to enter the 51st Michigan Student Film Festival (free admission April 27th at the DIA's historic Detroit Film Theatre). 

Check out the latest on student entry deadlines, becoming a judge and great festival prizes and how you can support DAFT and become an annual member!

Join DAFT at the free screening of the 51st Michigan Student Film Festival at the DIA this April 27th featuring the Best-of-Show selections.  There are still a few weeks left for K-12 students to submit their:
  • Short Narrative Films - $500 top prize 
  • Documentaries - $500 top prize honoring DAFT pioneer John Prusak
  • Public Service Announcements - Top prize $250 ProCam gift card
  • News/Sports Reports - Top prize $250 ProCam gift card
  • Music Videos - Top prize $250 ProCam gift card
  • Artistic/Experimental Videos - Top prize $250 ProCam gift card
We'll once again be offering...
  • $250 gift cards for the Dan Castorri Audience Choice Award following the 10 AM Elementary/Junior Reel (K-8) and the 12:30 PM Senior Reel (9-12 Best of Show). 
  • Raffle drawings between the two shows for great video gear.  (Every video entry is in the hopper!)

Now is a great time to join DAFT or make a contribution. We know there are many worthy causes asking for your support this year. DAFT is empowering the next generation of media makers, truth-tellers and cinema artists.  Click here to donate $10 to $1,000 (one time or recurring).

You can also join DAFT as a student for $35, an adult individual for $50 or as an institution for $150.  Membership qualifies you for single donations to the festival (multiple for institutions).  You may sponsor a student's entry via your log-in.  You also get special DAFT discounts on workshops and opportunities for free screenings and events throughout the year.  Click here to become a DAFT member.

DAFT is a non-profit educational organization and will provide a letter for tax purposes (if you are a media educator and producer this might also be considered a business expense).
