A bunch of tales I wanted to share with you

A tale I read

A tale I heard

Comedian Bob Mortimer on what he'd miss on a desert island:

“I’ll miss the television, terribly. ‘Cos I do watch a lot of television. I’m so good at watching television. I’ll miss that. But I think I’ll be OK - I can stare at stuff. I used to wonder when I saw old people - ‘look at that old person just staring at stuff’ - but I’m beginning to understand it. There’s nothing better than just staring at a buttercup, struggling to make an impact on the world. You know?

A tale I wrote

I knew a bloke with a massive head.
A proper strong skull.

The kind of bloke whose biceps had biceps.
Whose hands and feet were more suited
for the chassis of his 4X4
than a human body.

The kind of bloke who took his dog
for runs not walks.
Who didn't own a coat
or more than one neck tie.

The kind of bloke who only did heroic acts,
huge gestures
and saw things so we didn't have to.
Until it became too much.

I never saw his mask
slip
because I never knew
it existed.
