Educator Feedback: Lessons from 8 States

A new report from SREB recaps the impact of technical assistance grants to help states improve their educator effectiveness strategies.

With new and better training on observations, administrators improved as instructional leaders and teachers began to receive more instructional support. Scaling support to reach all school leaders proved challenging.

The report offers five insights the agencies and SREB distilled. It spotlights successful programs such as Arkansas’s Quest, Oklahoma’s Regional Stakeholder Advisory Groups, Maryland’s Promising Principals Academy and South Carolina’s system redesign and roll-out. Read the report >

In Memoriam: Joyce C. Tallman, Worked at SREB for 50 Years

SREB retirees including former president Mark Musick recently braved the cold and rain to pay tribute to Joyce Tallman, who worked at SREB for more than 50 years — at five different sites and as assistant to three different presidents.

Tallman died in September 2018, leaving the Joyce C. Tallman Trust to support several education scholarships.
