An Evening with Heroes
Through this Commemoration only after-hours tour, visitors learned what it would have been like to be present at the Alamo before the battle. Alamo living historians performed nine candlelit scenarios detailing the events and conversations that took place the evening before the final attack.

The Immortal 32 Arrive
More than 32 volunteers from the City of Gonzales answered the Alamo's call to recreate the arrival of the Immortal 32 on March 1. Many of these volunteers were descendants of Alamo defenders. Alamo CEO Doug McDonald presented Gonzales Mayor Connie Kacir with a gift from the Alamo, honoring the Gonzales 32 in this reverent ceremony.

Crockett Fiddle Fest
The sixth annual Crockett Fiddle Fest provided a full-day of western swing, bluegrass, and old time country music from bands like the Celtaire String Band, Roadside Libby, Bret Mullins Band and more.

Dawn at the Alamo
This ceremony featured dramatic reenactments of key moments during the battle. Hundreds of descendants and visitors attended Dawn at the Alamo, a truly must-see experience on the anniversary of the battle.

Remember the Defenders
Descendants of the Alamo defenders were the focus of the evening ceremony on March 6, and were welcomed by San Antonio City Councilwoman Rebecca Viagran, herself a descendant of José Toribio Losoya, the only defender to be born at the Alamo. Participants spoke about their Alamo ancestors and read the names of the 189 men who died during the battle. Throughout the ceremony, descendants placed floral displays and 189 white roses in front of the church in honor of the defenders.
