UPDATE NUMBER 2 - MARCH 2019

Here we are at the end of the 3rd month of 2019.  We have had a busy start to the year and are looking forward to lots of great times ahead.  It is exciting anticipating the World Council next year, more information is below with an application form.

Closer to home there are a few people heading off on holidays in the near future.  Doug and I are off to Japan for 2 weeks, Alexandra is heading to Ireland and Europe for a month and Jenny is off to South Africa for 2 weeks for a birthday celebration.  Please keep us all in your prayers whilst we are travelling.

I hope you enjoy what we have in this issue of Update and remember if you are on Facebook or Instagram to follow us.  I wish you all a blessed Easter and great school holidays for those who will be having a break.    Noeleen

Yeah sure, our standard Mother and Daughter High Tea's are pretty awesome (who doesn't salivate at just the thought of a warm, freshly baked scone smothered in clotted cream and jam?), but a Disney themed one that is going to be awesome!

Honestly though, what better way to spend an afternoon than surrounded by all-things Disney while munching on yummy food? There's something to suit everyone, whether you're a Snow White girl like me or a diehard Aladdin fan, there will be plenty of fun to be had at our Disney-themed afternoon tea this year.

Book online through the link below or pay on the day but please RSVP so we know for catering (and gift) purposes.  So 'get your ears on' and come and have some fun at our annual Mother and Daughter High Tea.

As we said in our last "Update" we have commenced the Gain and Retain program with Hancock Creative.  Josie and I attended our first full day training event last Wednesday - Storytelling and Social Media with Anna Hill and Nick Bowditch.  It was a great day with lots of things to absorb and we even produced our first video!  I also undertook our first Mentor Session with Lisa last week, where we planned out what we are going to do.

So if you are on Social Media - look us up (the links are below) and follow what is happening, join in the conversation and help us get GFS growing again.

FROM GFS AUSTRALIA

Hi everyone,
We have quite a growing list of people who have shown some interest in attending the next amazing World Council meeting in South Africa.  I have included everyone who attended our successful world council in Perth in this email as you may be interested in also receiving information about our next world council.  Please disregard if you are not intending to attend in South Africa - I don't want any one to miss out!

We now have some further information regarding World Council as sent from Thembeka and I hope this might help in making your decision about attending.

We will be sending our registration forms via GFS Australia for authorising your membership (so make sure you are a current financial member) and liaise through us rather than to Thembeka or Pumeza (world Secretary).

It might also be a good time to remind everyone in your diocese about the world travel fund, world emergency fund and our own Pat Franklin Foundation - all of which help those unable to raise their own funds for travel to world council.
In GFS love and prayers,  Julie

Josie is inviting those members who are interested in talking through the Business Plan to come to Townsend Lodge on the above date to talk about the report.  So please have a read and bring along your questions to discuss. Any financial members who would like a copy of the business plan please contact the office and we can email you a copy.
