The Many Benefits Of Beets

The Many Benefits Of Beets

When walking into the SoLé Soup Studio® for your favorite homemade soup, you might take a little interest in those with beets. Beets aren’t an ingredient found in a whole lot of common soups, but at SoLé SoupS®, we think this is something that should change. Not only does this root vegetable provide an incredible flavor, they’re also excellent for you. A few of the key benefits of beets are:

• Tons of nutrition with only a few calories – If you’re still making good on your promise to eat healthier and lose weight in 2019, beets are something that should absolutely be part of your nutrition plan. Simply put, beets pack in an incredible amount of nutrition and good stuff, while only carrying with them a few calories. In just 1 3.5oz serving of beets, a person can find 1.7 grams of protein, 2 grams of fiber, 6% RDI of Vitamin C, 20% RDI of Folate, 4% RDI of Iron, and 9% RDI of Potassium among other nutrients, while only consuming a measly 44 calories.

• Great blood pressure regulator – For those who have been trying to adapt a more heart-healthy diet plan, beets are an excellent addition. High blood pressure is one of the leading causes of heart disease, and beets have been shown to significantly lower and control blood pressure by up to 5 to 10 mmHg in just a few hours. This is due to the high concentration of nitrates naturally found in beets, which converts to nitric oxide in the body and helps to open up blood vessels.

• Aiding in digestive health – You’re only going to get the most from your nutrition if you’re optimally digesting it, and beets aid in this digestion naturally. In each cup of beetroot lies 3.4 grams of fiber, making it an excellent regular source. Not only will this fiber help your body to process food more efficiently, it’ll help you to feel fuller for longer as well.

• Improved athletic performance –The same nitrates that help to craft a heart healthy diet also aid in athletic performance, which is why you’re like to find many athletes enjoying beets before training or practice. Nitrate levels tend to peak around 3 hours after consuming beets, so a beet rich soup from SoLé SoupS® enjoyed around noon will be perfect for giving you that boost during your 3pm run.

What’s So Great About Carrots In Soup?

What’s So Great About Carrots In Soup?

Carrots are a common ingredient found in homemade soups. Those in Agoura or Thousand Oaks visiting their local SoLé Soup Studio® might be surprised to see carrots popping up in what seems like unlikely homemade soup recipes, but there’s good reason to bring a little carrot into just about anything. First and foremost, carrots are a delicious and simple wholesome ingredient that incorporates beautifully along with so many flavors. Second, they’re just plain good for you. A few of the key benefits of carrots are:

• Improves vision – Enjoying carrots for your eyes isn’t just an old wives’ tale, there’s some truth in the claims! Carrots are rich in beta-carotene, which transforms into Vitamin A when it reaches the liver, aiding in the pigments necessary for healthy night vision. Additionally, beta-carotene has been shown in studies to protect against macular degeneration, and those who consumed a liberal amount of carrots regularly had a 40% decreased risk of macular degeneration compared to those who do not.

• Slows down the signs of aging – The cells of the body age, and there isn’t much we can do to stop aging, but we can slow it down. The same beta-carotene that helps to keep eyes healthy also works as a powerful antioxidant, protecting the cells from damage caused by free radicals. By protecting the cells of the body, it works to slow the aging of those same cells.

• Promotes glowing complexion – The California sun we experience in Agoura and Thousand Oaks can do real damage to your skin, but carrots can help to correct that damage. The Vitamin A and antioxidants found in carrots protect the skin from sun damage, along with other conditions like acne, wrinkles, and hyperpigmentation.

• Helps the liver to detoxify – The liver is an important organ tasked with keeping the body toxin-free. When Vitamin A is created in the liver, it helps the liver to better flush out toxins from the body, while reducing levels of bile and fat. Carrots are also high in fiber, which cleanses the colon during digestion.

• Healthy digestion – Carrots are naturally high in fiber, which keeps your digestive system working at its best. Without proper fiber, the digestive system is unable to properly break down and pass foods, and this could lead your body to flushing out nutrients it should be taking in. The fiber in carrots keeps you absorbing your nutrients while also helping you to feel fuller for longer.

5 Reasons Our Customers Love SoLé SoupS

5 Reasons Our Customers Love SoLé SoupS

SoLé SoupS® is a customer favorite, but if you haven’t been in to visit one of our SoLé Soup Studio® locations yet, maybe a few reasons why customers keep coming back can serve as a little inspiration. 5 reasons why our customers love SoLé SoupS® are:

1. Lots of options – According to Jessie K from Century City, “Too many amazing options to choose from! And there’s more than just soups! Lasagna is incredible so are all the salads! Everything is so fresh so clean and so delicious.” If you’re looking for great soup, we have you covered, but if you want something a little different, we’ve got that, too. Providing plenty of options ensures that every customer who walks through our doors leaves satisfied.

2. Soup from scratch – After a recent visit, Liz S from Agoura Hills had this to say about SoLé SoupS® “It’s pretty much the best soup I’ve ever had. No BS. Their soup is made every morning fresh from scratch.” The way to get the most flavor and nutrition from ingredients is to use them fresh, and the best way to use fresh ingredients is to prepare fresh every day. When you have SoLé SoupS®, you have the best you can get.

3. Quick and easy – Harley E from Tehachapi, CA recently visited SoLé SoupS®, and this review states “I’m hooked. This place is amazing! They have so many options and variety. The soups are really high-quality. She’s got lots of salads and pasta options. It’s very casual and easy just to run and grab lunch or dinner.” Quality ingredients rarely come quick, but they do at SoLé SoupS®. You never have to skip opting for healthy food when you need a fast bite to eat.

4. Take a night off from cooking – We don’t just offer our delicious and nutritious soups in store, we also have them frozen to-go. Lisa L from Los Angeles states “Probably the best soups around. All their soups are made from scratch and have ridiculous flavor. The frozen entrees are great for a quick dinner when you have little time for cooking.” Our frozen entrees are prepared with the same care and high quality ingredients as our in-house options!

5. Vegan made easy – For those who adhere to a vegan diet, it can be tough to find easy, nutritious, and delicious food at a place everyone will love. After a recent visit, Ann B from Newbury Park said, “New SoLé SoupS® location in Thousand Oaks, on Arboles, and the soup is FABULOUS. They have a few vegan options every day, too.

Today I had the split pea curry and it was delicious. Reasonable prices.” Our vegan options ensure that all customers who come into a SoLé Soup Studio® have something they’ll love to eat.
