Be A Part of Evaluation 2019
|

The American Evaluation Association is now accepting proposal submissions for Evaluation 2019. AEA’s annual conference, with the 2019 theme Paths to the Future of Evaluation, is November 13-16, 2019 in Minneapolis, Minnesota. We invite you to submit a proposal, even if you are unfamiliar with AEA.
The STEM Education and Workforce Training Topical Interest Group (TIG) of the American Evaluation Association invites STEM educators, researchers, and evaluators to submit proposals. Since its founding in 2012, the STEM TIG serves as a welcoming professional home for evaluators, researchers, and other stakeholders in STEM-related fields; we offer you our support in developing your proposal. The AEA call for proposals comprises all presentation types. This is a great opportunity to present your work, research, or best practices to a global audience of more than 3,000 colleagues, and to connect with a thriving group of other STEM evaluation professionals.
All submissions are due Monday, March 18.
Paths to the Future
At Evaluation 2019, we will invite you to engage and discuss our rich experience and the contributions of evaluation, our strategies for leadership, and our actions for renewal in the following four areas:
- Addressing the key issues our society faces
- Applying and innovating methods and practices to evaluate in the context of important societal challenges
- Leaving no one behind
- Leading through evaluation
Given the focus on leading, AEA President Tessie Tzavaras Catsambas encourages all who submit proposals to think creatively about the future our organization will build. Learn more about the 2019 theme.
STEM TIG’s Theme-Related Interests
Our TIG is particularly interested in strategies for STEM education leadership evaluating innovative STEM programs, culturally competent methods in evaluation, and evaluation of “K to gray” STEM initiatives (including workforce development).
We encourage you to submit proposals related to these or other areas that discuss, share, and push forward the field and practice of STEM evaluation. Several AEA session types are submitted as intact proposals, with all presenters listed as collaborators. It may be helpful for you to connect with other STEM evaluators to propose a broader, more impactful session that approaches your topic from multiple perspectives. Types of Presentations
We are looking for a dynamic variety of presentations to meet the diverse needs of AEA members. Presentation types include panel discussions, expert lectures, roundtables, skill building workshops, ignite sessions, birds of a feather gatherings, and a new flexible session type that allows for new dynamic and experiential learning. We encourage you to think creatively about your presentations, their design, and format to provide attendees with the best experience. Please choose the presentation type that best fits your material and utilizes your content in the greatest way. Skill-building workshops, panel discussions, demonstrations, and expert lectures continue to be the most popular session types at the annual conference.

Visit the AEA website to get started. You must be logged into your AEA account to submit a proposal. If you do not have an account, you must become a member, create a non-member account, or create a student non-member account. Please ensure your member profile is up-to-date with your proper title and organization before you submit your proposal.
