Climate Action Panel at U of T, Thurs. March 7, 7-8:30 pm

Tomorrow evening, hear an expert panel discuss “Climate Action—We Have 11 Years to Act.” The focus will be on urgent questions: what needs to be done to limit global warming to 1.5°C, what solutions already exist, what challenges impede solutions, and what we can do to reduce our carbon footprint and take informed climate action. A lot to discuss in an hour and half! The event will take place in Room 140, University College, 15 King's College Circle. A Call for Nominations for HVRA Community Builder Awards

Twice a year, HVRA solicits nominations for Community Builder Awards, which are presented at the Spring Meeting and the AGM in October.

If you know someone who in your opinion has made Harbord Village a better place to live, then please put that person’s name forward. Just write a short paragraph on why you think this person is worthy of the award. There are numerous ways that a person makes a neighbourhood better. They might keep a beautiful garden or spend time helping another neighbour in need. Perhaps they have volunteered on community projects, or been responsive in some other way to the needs of the community. Your nominee could be a resident or a business operator or a person who has some other attachment to HV, not necessarily a resident. We’re sure you know someone who has done something that makes life in HV better.

Submit your nominations to chair@harbordvillage.com. Nominations will be considered by an HVRA Board Committee consisting of Nicole Schulman, Gus Sinclair and Gail Misra. The honorees will be announced at the Spring Meeting on May 15th at Kensington Gardens, 45 Brunswick Ave.
