We've been here before.
16 points out in front and the end line in sight.
For the last six years, in fact, we've ended up coming in second and missing promotion to play in the Auckland premier trophy, The Hedley Howarth Championship.
So, no-one is getting too far ahead of themselves just yet.
With last Saturday being washed out this Saturday is reduced to 50 overs for each side so first innings points is the most likely result.
Then it's off to play Waitakere in the deciding last game.
All we can ask is the boys simply keep playing as resolutely and as firmly as they have been doing.
If they do that we might, just might, be able to look ahead with some joy to next season.
Good luck Lads.

TGS Cricket a happy place
Takapuna Grammar School has enjoyed an excellent start to the school cricket season.
At present both the Boys and Girls 1st XI sit at the top of their divisions.
The 1st XI Girls are looking to go one better than last season and qualify for Nationals. Therefore The Summer Tournament week which is taking place in two weeks will be hugely important for them.
The 1st XI Boys have two games left in the regular season and if they continue their winning ways they will win the right to host the promotion final.
Both teams are assisted in their coaches by North Shore players and have benefited from their expertise.
The junior numbers at TGS are also trending upward as we are aiming to grow the game we all love so much. With this we aim to see the depth and quality increase in both the senior and junior school.
There has also been several excellent individual performances 5fer’s from Max Clarke, Matt Browning and Zak Beaumont as well as hundreds from Matt Browning and Riley Mudford.
Takapuna Grammar Cricket is definitely in a good place and only wanting to improve. If you would like to know anymore or you are interested in finding out more than please contact our Director of Cricket, Michael Tillett.
