Hereward Primary School in Loughton conducted its annual ‘Health Week’ with the focus on children being active.
Skipping workshops were held for all children from Reception to Year 6, with the children learning how to use short and long ropes for activities such as ‘The Pretzel’, ‘Double Dutch’ and ‘Keep the Kettle Boiling’.
The children were also involved in a ‘Big Skip’ to raise money for The British Heart Foundation.
Physical Education co-ordinator Liz Ladlow said: “It is great to see so many children now skipping in the playground during break-times.
"Their five minutes of skipping is worth half-an -hour’s jogging or a 90-minute game of football. It will certainly help their fitness.”
