Good day, North Junior High. Here are a few words of wisdom.
When you're in the middle of a big challenge, it's difficult to imagine what
good will ever come of it; yet, time and time again people of great wisdom
tell us that challenges provide us with opportunities.
Here's how American actress Cicely Tyson says it: Challenges make you discover things about yourself that you never really knew.
When you're going through a difficult time, you can learn a lot about
yourself. You can learn how to handle things better the next time. You can
discover strengths you didn't know you had. You may realize you have
more support around you than you think.
So if you're going through a difficult time, remember this: Keep your chin up and keep an eye out for new discoveries about yourself and the world around you.
Have a great school year North students. Soar Eagles!
Sincerely,
Ellen Stewart Principal, North Junior High School
Please be sure to remind all of your families of district protocol in the event of a severe weather event. (The first reminder on weather protocols was posted as a 742 News story on the website in October as well as on our social media sites.) Your school newsletter is an ideal channel for this message. Refer families to the website homepage, where under Quick Links they will find all the information under Weather Announcements. https://www.isd742.org/Page/998
Weather related announcements. St. Cloud Area School District 742 Prepare. Engage. Educate. Empower. Inspire.
Winter weather and emergency situations are not predictable, and they may happen at any time. The purpose of the weather-related closing plan is to assist parents/guardians and students to be better prepared to deal with emergency situations and reduce their effects. Parents are encouraged to prepare for emergency closings. Special child care arrangements should be made which could be used in the event of a late start, early release, or a school closing. Ultimately, the parent/guardian should make the final decision whether a child should attend school during severe weather.

We are hoping to have a range of k-12 participants at the events and will have grand band activities. If you would like to help or share resources, please let me know!
At Marco, there will be Marco volunteers but we can always use more teacher help. It would an activity that you could attend with your family if you would like.
At St.John's there will be CS students helping with the activities. Again, you are welcome to attend alone or with your family!
