Nurturing Your Nonprofit: Empowering & Engaging

Your Nonprofit Board in Fundraising!

A nonprofit board is fiscally, legally, and morally responsible for its organization. Gary Kelsey will lead this 2-hour workshop exploring the role of the board in development (fundraising), with an emphasis on:

• The “human elements” (including fear and socialization) related to money and asking for money. 
• Information board members should know about philanthropy, and;
• Strategies and resources to empower and engage board members in fundraising.

The goal of this session is to provide board members with the tools, information and support they need to maximize their comfort (and ability) to raise money for their organization!!!

• When: March 28, 2019 – 12:30-2:45
• Where: Grantsburg Public Library (415 S. Robert St., Grantsburg, WI 54840)
• Cost: $10 per participant

Gary Kelsey     

Gary has 42 years of experience within the nonprofit, government and education sectors.  Prior to beginning his consulting work, Gary held several staff positions within a variety of nonprofit organizations. As an organizational development consultant, Gary has provided nonprofit board development, program development, strategic planning, fundraising, collaboration, team-building, qualitative research, leadership coaching and other organizational development assistance and training to over 300 nonprofit, philanthropic, education and government organizations. 

 

Dr. Kelsey is currently Senior Core Faculty and Residency Coordinator in the School of Public Policy and Administration at Walden University.  Formerly, Gary was a Professor and Program Director of the MA in Philanthropy and Development Program at Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. In the past, he has also taught courses and seminars at the University of St. Thomas, Concordia University and St. Cloud State University. Gary holds a B.A. Degree in Social Work from St. Cloud State University and an M.A. in Human and Health Service Administration from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota. In 2001, Gary completed a Doctorate of Education in Leadership degree from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota.
