Acrylic paint pouring is an exciting method for making unique, abstract art. In this class, we’ll start by learning about pouring mediums and how to mix paints to get consistent results. There will be a couple demonstrations, then you’ll get to create a unique painting of your own on a 9x12” canvas. In this session, we’ll learn the tree ring pour technique. All supplies are included! Wear old clothes, it’s a messy medium. Paintings take 36 hours to dry, so you’ll need to come back to the Arts Center to pick up your painting later in the week.

LIGHTS! CAMERA! ACTION! Express your digital voice! (Adults)
Join us to learn the craft of digital storytelling! Workshop participants will be empowered as digital storytellers to write, craft, and edit a digital story based on a personal experience. Participants will learn how to craft key story ingredients into a memorable video posted online. First we explore storytelling concepts, then write a short personal story, craft a video script, and create a digital story through video editing. Media Artist will conduct video editing in collaboration with digital storytellers during the week after class meetings end.

Acrylic Pouring on Vase – Repurpose, upcycle, recreate! (Adults)
Try Acrylic pouring techniques on something new! We’ll take an old, outdated vase and upcycle it to create a new, beautiful piece of poured art! Choose your colors to match a newly decorated space or give it away as a gift. All supplies (including the vase) will be covered by the class fee. Wear old clothes as it does get messy. The vase will take 36 hours to dry, so you’ll need to come back to pick up your project later in the week.

Small Paintings-Big Impact: Florals (Adults)
Have you always wanted to learn to paint but a shortage of time, space, or money have kept you from doing so? In this course, we’ll learn how making small paintings can resolve all three of these issues while providing opportunities to make beautiful, complete works of art to liven up your living room. We’ll cover acrylic painting fundamentals as well as strategies for working art into your life. Our subject matter will be flowers and students can expect to complete one unique floral painting in each of the five class periods.

Mosaic Spheres (Adults)
Would you like to make a beautiful piece of mosaic art? This class is a step by step instruction for mosaics on a round surface and is a wonderful introduction for beginners to advanced learners. This is a 2 class project, we’ll complete one side the first night and finish up the mosaicking on the second. Grout will be sent home for finishing up your masterpiece.

Gelli Printing (Adults)
Gelli Printing is a fun form of Mono printing without the use of a printing press. Along with the use of acrylics, and the layers of color, multiple textures, you will create unique pieces. This creative process is fun for all levels and can be used with collage, cards, and enhancing other work. The creative opportunities are limitless with this fun technique. All supplies are included, all you need is a smock and your enthusiasm!
