Usually, ideas are everywhere for us writers.
That is, until we’re ready to write. We’ll have notes, bits and pieces written in random places. But, when it comes to writing our next piece, it’s like we draw a blank. Go figure, right? 🙄

I’m never quite able to get my ideas in order because I have so many. I fill up pages in my writing journal, but when I finally get into my writing groove, I can’t make any sense of my notes. Or, if do get a start, that inspiring enthusiasm I had before hits a parked car when coming down a hill on a refreshing bike ride. 🙄

But, you don’t want to be idle too long, or you leave yourself open to distraction, disappointment, and discouragement. Here are some things to do while you wait out the mental storm.

Writing communities are excellent places for this. Whether they read your work, answer your questions, or just give you advice, the others in your niche will understand the struggle.

Sometimes, you just need to focus.
Your head may not be as ready as you think. You may need to train your brain to zone in on the task at hand—no matter how impossible it feels.
