MEN'S 1s NEARLY THERE

In an entertaining weekend of hockey, the highlight was seeing the Men's 1s win 6-0 against Broxbourne and now need just the one more win from their last 3 games to gain promotion back up to Division 2. WON 6-0 Match Report

The Men's 2s (Pictured Below) have had a tough old season however on Saturday they managed a rare 2-1 win against Winchmore Hill and Enfield 1s. It's too late in the season for a comeback but the win makes them all feel a lot better. WON 2-1 Match Report

The Ladies 1s (Pictured below) finished 2-2 against Blueharts with goals from Mari Thomas and Sarah Brydon. Ladies 1s have still got a bit of work to do to gain promotion, a good finish to the season is needed. DREW 2-2 Match Report

The Ladies 3’s made it hard for themselves and left it late to draw 1-1 today. Goalscorer was Emily H and player of the match was a close run thing with Emma S just winning it ahead of Charlotte. Thank you to Helen for stepping and umpiring the second half after Charlotte was injured.

The Ladies 2's battled hard against top of the league Blueharts. But the special occasion being umpired by Peter on his 150th match for BHHHC, overshadowed the 4-0 loss. Both teams honoured his dedication after the match.

Men’s 3 fight hard against top of the table Bishops Stortford but came out 4-1 losers.

Elsewhere the Men's 5s drew 1-1 with Stevenage and the Men's 4s lost 2-1 against Rickmansworth.

Remember to give your hockey availability to Sarah or Pete every Monday...

Ladies - Sarah Brydon
Men - Pete Allam

JUNIOR TRAINING
Fantastic session by coach William Alex Scott. Despite the pouring rain, our youths trained hard using envelope warm up, Indian dribble and some fantastic game play (with 2 fully kitted goalies). Wonderful to see man of the match awarded due to good sportsmanship!

Due to donations and stock sorting, we now have two full goalie kits for our juniors.  Goalie training is now incorporated into all  Sunday sessions.  The enthusiasm and skill shown by the children will ensure we won't be short of future goalies in the club.  We are hoping to have more kits sponsored to host our first goalie training academy before the end of the summer season.
A very very big good luck to both our boys and girls u/12 teams.  They will be trialed and tested like never before on 10 March when they complete against the top teams of clubs in the In2 Hertfordshire county tournament in St Albans.  We are right behind you!

IT'S BACK - BIGGER AND BETTER THAN EVER BEFORE!

The BERKO FANTASY HOCKEY LEAGUES

How are you doing as a player? If you've entered a team into the Fantasy League, how is your team getting on?

Not a lot of change this week, but great to see the M2s get a win which I’m sure was instrumental in Jason Silver bagging Manager of the Week this week, as those few extra points helped dragged Hi Ho Silver up 2 places. Enjoy your free drink at the bar at the weekend! Anyone prepared to bet on Jim catching Jamie at the foot of the table? I’m sure decent odds are on offer somewhere (but please bet responsibly 😊)

So with just three games to go, there are still a few players in the mix for Podium places (even if on the Men’s side, it is realistically only 3rd place on offer 😊).

Far more interesting though is the Ladies’ table where the first 5 could all still be in the running for the top spot. So why not get along to a game this weekend to cheer on your key Fantasy League players, as points do mean prizes!!

Weekly updates are also on the club Facebook page
