Discussion + Demonstration

with author Stephany Wilkes +

fiber artist Amanda Solomon:

Sunday, March 17th @ 12pm - 4pm

Join us on Sunday, March 17th @ 12pm for a free afternoon of sheep filled discussion and demos.

Author and sheep shearer, Stephany Wilkes will be visiting us to read from her book Raw Material, Working Wool in the West.  In her book she tells the story of American wool through her own journey to becoming a certified sheep shearer. It all began with something many of us can relate to: a quest to find local yarn.

Stephany will do a short reading from her book at 1pm and we will follow it with a discussion on the journey wool takes as it makes its way from sheep to the yarn store and what we as consumers can do to support good practices.

Also joining us is local spinner and fiber artist Amanda Solomon.  You've probably saw her super popular batts and yarns at VKL, or maybe you follow her on Instagram (@asolomon018).  She will be demoing her handspun yarns beginning at 12pm.  She will also be joining us for the discussion and, of course, have some of her terrific hand spun yarns and batts for sale!

You won't want to miss this very special afternoon.  Reserve your spot here, so we know how many folks to expect (and how many snacks to get!)
Sample Sale!
Our sample bins are overflowing and we've got to make room for all the new ones coming down the pike, or should we say off the needles?!

For the first time since we've opened, we'll be selling some of our hand knit + crocheted samples.  Priced to move, most of them are on sale for well below the cost of the yarn to make them - so come by early for the best selection!  It will probably be another 3 years before we do another sale.

Updated Return Policy
For any returns you must now either have a receipt or the purchase must be in the register under your name.

As before, needles, notions, patterns + books are always final sale.  Damaged goods in original package may be returned with in one week (7 days) for store credit or replacement.

Yarns and Fibers may be returned within 60 days for store credit only.  They must be in original, salable condition only.

All sale items are Final Sale, including regularly priced items bought at a discount.
