As you may have heard from your student or at our Booster Meeting on Tuesday, we will unfortunately be forced to cancel our Pre-LGPE Concert scheduled for Monday, March 4^th. We had originally scheduled to use the Lassiter Concert Hall, but due to issues with their construction and adequate parking, we lost the date several weeks ago. We worked extremely hard to find an alternate location, but were not able to locate a performance space that was adequate for our needs. We apologize for the inconvenience and hope to see you all at our LGPE performances. The students are doing a magnificent job and we are excited to see how well they will play in two weeks at LGPE.

LGPE 2019

Large Group Performance Evaluation, or LGPE, is almost here! Each of our three bands has prepared a concert consisting of three selections of varied style. We will be evaluated by 8 judges and a clinician, and will receive extremely valuable feedback that we will use to improve for the coming years.

LGPE this year will be held at McEachern High School in the Performing Arts Center. Each band will perform their concert, and will then receive a clinic and participate in a sight-reading event to evaluate their understanding of musical concepts. Symphonic I Band will perform on Thursday, March 14^th in the evening, and Symphonic II and Concert Band will perform on Friday, March 15^th. The schedules for each band are listed below. Please take a time to familiarize with the details and the times for each band.

Symphonic II and Concert Band Members will miss some school for this event. All absences are excused. We encourage the students to acquire and complete their work ahead of time so that they do not fall behind academically.

We invite all of our families and friends to attend as many of these concerts as you can! It is amazing for our students to perform for a large, energetic audience. They have worked extremely hard and are excited to show off what they can do!

Remember: We must have a signed permission form for each student! No form, no LGPE!  Contact Membership Admin with any questions.

SPRING TRIP - UPDATE

The Fine Arts Spring Trip is scheduled for Tuesday, April 2 through Sunday, April 7. The itinerary is being finalized and will be distributed very soon.

For all families who have a student attending the Spring Trip to New York...we will be holding a MANDATORY meeting on Tuesday, March 26th at 6:30 PM

Every student who is traveling must attend along with at least one parent. We will give final details, distribute the itinerary, and complete permission forms and medical forms. Please mark this on your calendar!

The new season is approaching really fast, so if you plan to supplement your band account fund by volunteering with the Braves CHOP TEAM, you should obtain your 2020 beverage permit as soon as possible and sign up for a training class.

The Rapid Retrain classes for returning volunteers and regular training classes for new volunteers are being offered in March. You MUST email Murlene to RSVP at least 24 hours in advance and have your 2020 beverage permit prior to attending a training session.
