Thank you David Springs for this inspiring vision of our kiosk project. Join in the efforts Tuesdays from 6:30-8.

Tuesday night is project night

This month the Tuesday Arduino Group decided to change formats a bit. They'd been working progressively, building on skills as a group over several months, but now they've decided to shift goals and help anyone who shows up work on their projects. It's a great time to brush up on your maker skills around CAD (especially Fusion 360), Arduino, electronics, and coding. Don't have a project but want to build your skills anyway? We're working on a payment kiosk for our makerspace. If you've ever wanted to pay cash for a class and have it automatically marked "paid" (without having to wait on a treasurer to verify that you could count to $20) this is your chance to help out. It's like a robotic version of textile tribe and we'd love everyone to jump in.

Jewelry Lab Workday March 10

Have you seen our jewelry lab lately? It looks like this:
We had a great time with sledgehammers at our February cleanup day making it look like this, but if you'd like to help it along we're having a workday on Sunday March 10 from 12-3pm. Bring gloves and energy to learn how to frame a wall.

Quarterly Member Meeting March 31

Join us for our quarterly member meeting Sunday, March 31 at 6pm in the makerspace classroom. We'll discuss what's going on around the space. We have really been wanting to update our bylaws this year. We've consulted two attorneys and held a meeting in February to review our first draft with the membership. If our final draft passes the March board meeting, we'll be ready to vote after the March member meeting. Please stay tuned because if we bring you a new bylaws version to vote on we will need everyone to log in and approve it. The new version will straighten out our director term and election procedures,

Houston Makerspace

This month in Makerspace Tourism, LaDeana visited Houston's makerspace and came back with some great photos and a full report. If you're visiting another city, look up their space and be a MakeICT delegate! We've learned a lot sharing ideas from around the country, and makerspace tourism makes for some free fun entertainment wherever you're at.
