West Hatch High School student Josh Lord was among the performers at the Loughton, Buckhurst Hill and Chigwell Rotary Club's Youth Makes Music event held at Chigwell School.

Josh received a standing ovation for his performance of 'Bring Him Home', from the musical Les Miserables, with comments that he 'stole the show'.

Chigwell School headmaster Michael Punt said he was "bowled over" by the talent shown by students from local schools.

The evening raised over £1,000 for money for the Memory Cafe in Loughton and the Rotary Foundation.

Guests included Loughton mayor Stephen Murray and Chigwell Parish Council Chairman Darshan Sunger.
