Writing Coffee and Conversation

Hi <<First Name>>,

How are you? I do hope you are well.
Last month we had a fantastic session working with Mary Oliver's Poem “The Journey”. This included us looking out the window and writing about buildings which caught our attention. This led to conversations about bridges and how we journey from one place to another.

This month we agreed that we will spend the whole session focusing on bridges.

Come along and join us and see what your writing reveals!

Writing, Coffee and Conversation
We are a friendly group who meet together and tap into our creativity and discover more about ourselves through poetry, self-reflective writing and conversation.

The emphasis is on self-discovery and self-improvement.

No prior knowledge of poetry or expressive writing is required, just a willingness to connect, reflect and experiment with words in a supportive environment.

Meetings:
We meet at least once a month in selected bespoke cafés and places of interest throughout Central London.

Regards
Charmaine  Pollard

Poetry Therapy and Arts in Prisons
You may be aware that I facilitate poetry therapy workshops in prisons with a company called RiseUp CIC. who also work in schools, with the long term unemployed and those at risk of offending within the wider community.
I am committed to using poetry therapy in all sectors of society, to bring about healing and transformation.

Last month, I attended a training event Introduction to Arts in Prisons by National Criminal Justice Arts Alliance. Their aim is to ensure the arts are used within the criminal justice system as a springboard for positive change.

Watch and share the video below with the fantastic Ashleigh Nugent of RiseUp CIC working with prisoners at HMP Liverpool and see first hand how using the arts can begin to to transform lives.
