Summits: Why it's important to get together

The greenways and trails movement is no different from most other sectors in the fact that relationships matter. At the East Coast Greenway Alliance, we pride ourselves on our collaborative approach as we team up with hundreds of outstanding partners at the local, state, and federal level. Mostly these partnerships entail dozens of emails, phone calls, and one-on-one meetings. But from time to time, it's good to get together. Join us as we connect with and inspire each other at our first-ever Mid-Atlantic Summit in Philadelphia next month. Read more

Five Mid-Atlantic leaders kick off podcast series

Deputy Director Niles Barnes has kicked off the Greenway's podcast series by sitting down with five partners in the Mid-Atlantic region. In our first five episodes, meet:
  • the manager of Philly's bike share program
  • a key philanthropist who believes greenways make us all better stewards of the environment
  • an econometrics specialist who helped quantify the impact of the Greenway in the Delaware Watershed
  • a planner and engineer who is designing a number of the region's trail systems
  • a planner working to ensure that gaps in the trail network get closed.
Help wanted: Greenway coordinators for FL, NC & VA

We're seeking regional coordinators for the state of Florida and for Virginia/North Carolina. The two full-time positions hold responsibility for all aspects of greenway development, state committee and volunteer engagement, and some fundraising tasks. The right candidates will grow, support and empower our volunteers in the region and must be able to travel frequently within their region for meetings and events. Work will include data collection, field investigations, and performing technical and GIS data analysis.

Application deadline: March 15. Learn more and apply
