The breeze is warm, magnolias are blooming, and electronic scooters are swerving perilously along Atlanta’s sidewalks and bike paths: Spring has come to Midtown. You wake up on a Saturday morning ready to emerge like a daffodil’s first leaves. But where can you go to make the most of this precious day? How can you embrace vitality in a season known for temperamental rain storms? The answer is Atlanta Roller Derby.

Jukes vs Tragic City
Atlanta’s Jukes of Hazzard make their 2019 debut as they hit the track with Birmingham’s Tragic City. These teams last played in 2016, when Tragic City took the win 216-131. But after three years, the Jukes are a team of fresh faces ready to prove their power. Will Tragic City take the win back to Alabama? Or are this years’ Jukes ready to show off their skills? One thing’s for sure- this isn’t a night for southern hospitality.

Toxic Shocks vs. Apocalypstix
Both of these Atlanta home teams were winners last month when they faced the Rays and the Demon, respectively. But times have changed, and one team will reign superior. Will victory come by subtle infection or explosive calamity? Either way, this hour-long execution will be worth the watch.

As the weather warms up but the clouds still loom above, you can be sure your Spring has sprung with Atlanta Roller Derby. We’ll shelter you from the rain at Yaarab Shriners on Ponce. We’ll awaken your senses with beer, art, and food trucks like The Patty Wagon, Brooke Lynn’s Own, and Repicci Real Italian Ice. We’ll draw out the sun with our halftime band, Fury in Few. And all of these sweet treats are just extras to the main event: roller derby. When the games begin, you’ll be one of hundreds of fans shouting and gasping in unison as skaters whirl, wack, and wing their way around the track. So, come and bloom with Atlanta Roller Derby.
