Waverley Art Prize 2019

Call for Entries Open 

With an annual prize pool worth $12,000, the 2019 Waverley Art Prize is open to painting, drawing print & mixed media. Entries open on Monday 18 February 2019 and close on Friday 17 May 2019. This year’s Judges are Mitch Cairns (artist), Phil James (artist) and Fiona Lowry (artist).
 

2019 Prizes include:

  •  Waverley Art Prize: $6,000 acquisitive
  • The Mayors Prize: $2,000 acquisitive
  • People’s Choice Prize: $1000 non-acquisitive
  • Oil Painting Prize $1000 worth of oil paints sponsored by Art Spectrum, non-
    acquisitive
  • Acrylic Painting prize $500 worth of acrylic paints sponsored by Matisse
    Derivan, non-acquisitive
  • Mixed Media Prize $500 worth of acrylic paints sponsored by Matisse
    Derivan, non-acquisitive
  • Drawing Prize $500 sponsored by Waverley-Woollahra Art School, non-
    acquisitive
  • Printmaking Prize $500 sponsored by Waverley-Woollahra Art School, non-
    acquisitive

Join our friendly creative atmosphere at Waverley Woollahra Art School.If you are interested, please call the office on 02 9387 2461 between 9am and 4pm to secure your place to start this week.

Autumn Park Arts 2019
In collaboration with Centennial Park the Park Arts program is a series of workshops held in Centennial Park with our artist educators to show you how to improve your skills in capturing the beautiful Parklands.

Tea with an Artist with Gria Shead – Drawing from Nature

Sunday 17 March 3pm until 5pm 2019 (Coffee, tea, pastries and all materials included. Feel free to bring your own drawing supplies and paper if desired.)

Watercolours in the Morning with Tanya Baily

Tutors News
Tanya Baily is featured in an exhibition "Ebb and Flow. One landscape. Two Artists.

The project behind the exhibition was that we two landscape artists with very different practices went to the same locations and produced work.
These two images, alongside each other,  describe the results well.

Finalists in North Sydney Art Prize

Two of our tutors, Richard Byrnes and Willemina Villari, from WWAS are finalists within The North Sydney Art Prize which launched on the weekend and runs until 17 March 2019.
