ECRI Is Not Meeting In April
ECRI, I am hoping you are all safe and well. I have been working hard to practice social distancing but still getting outside every day. Spring is coming.
This is the first of the weekly notes that ECRI will send out until we are all back to work in our offices. You get plenty of information about the pandemic elsewhere so these will be short and sweet, and by popular demand, will include the weekly Creature Feature.
For obvious reasons we are not going to hold the ECRI meeting on April 6. While the official closures are for a relatively short period of time, it is unlikely that the pandemic will have passed on anytime soon so we are cancelling the April meeting. The Executive Committee and the Policy Committee will both hold conference calls on that day to get us going in the right direction. The Climate Crisis Committee has already had a conference call and will continue to meet virtually. If you want to get/stay involved with the policy work, contact me and we can get you added to the Policy Committee email list. None of us knows when or how the legislature will reconvene and what they will work on, but we are paying close attention. As the details become better known, we shall send out the information.
It is unlikely that we will be able to hold an in person meeting in May, so we are planning to hold the May 4 meeting online. We shall get back to you with details as they are worked out, but it looks like the speaker scheduled for April, Court King , who is coordinating the Green Justice Zones for the City of Providence, will be able to join us.
