We had a blast launching the Smart Metro Bike on the Westside at CicLAvia on Sunday, March 3rd The clouds and rain came and went early in the morning, but as the saying goes, the sun always shines on CicLAvia and Sunday was no exception! We couldn't have asked for a better or more beautiful day to introduce the new bikes and we were thrilled to see so many of you riding.

Reduced Fare Metro Bike Share Passes are Now Available
|
|
Metro Bike Share now has Reduced Fare passes available through TAP. Reduced Fare passes are available for Seniors (62+), persons with disabilities, college and vocational students, and K-12 students (must be 16+ to ride Metro Bike Share). We will be launching reduced fares for Low-Income Fare is Easy (LIFE) patrons later this year – stay tuned!
For eligible and approved TAP card holders, the Metro Bike Share 30-Day Pass is $5 and the 365-Day pass is $50. Registered TAP card holders can select a Metro Bike Share 30-Day or 365-Day pass on taptogo.net/metrobikeshare. Discounts for the pass will apply automatically at checkout.

⚡ Charged Up! Electric Metro Bikes are Coming to DTLA and Central LA ⚡
|

In November, Metro Bike Share introduced ten electric bikes to the existing DTLA/Central LA fleet as part of the Metro Bike Share Electric Bike pilot program. The pilot program ended in early March with over 4,900 trips logged on Electric Metro Bikes. We are charged up to announce that Metro Bike Share will permanently add a number of Electric Metro Bikes to the current fleet of available bikes in Downtown LA and Central LA later this year!
Thank you to everyone who took a ride on the electric bike and participated in our post-ride survey! Riders let us know that they were able to pedal without breaking a sweat, shorten their commutes, and make trips up steep hills with much less effort (ahem... Grand Ave.)
